Chateau Vista Farm's Bliksem or "Elektra" is a special mare by the famous stallion Consul and is half sister to Beezie Madden's amazing mount Judgement ISF owned by Iron Springs Farm. Consul was one of the leading sires at Iron Spring Farm known for producing remarkable athletes for every discipline. Among his international stars are the show jumper Judgement ISF and the four-star eventer Critical Decision. His daughter, the Keur mare Hivona, was a Produce of Dam winner at Dressage at Devon and top producing broodmares in the KWPN-NA.
Consul leaves behind great joy in the hearts of all who have known him, along with extraordinary sons and daughters who have ascended to the highest level of sport in a range of FEI disciplines. Consul was born in an era in which horses were expected to do everything. They needed to have the movement for dressage, the athletic ability for jumping and the temperament to enjoy the training. Consul’s correct conformation and natural athleticism embodied a true sport horse. He was recognized for his exceptional, powerful canter that allowed him to excel in jumping and dressage, traits he passed on to his sons and daughters. Consul, by Nimmerdor, continues to be one of the leading sires at Iron Spring Farm and is known for producing remarkable athletes. Consul has sired nearly 70 first premium foals, 52 star mares and geldings, 9 Keur mares, 1 licensed son, and 1 approved son, Judgement ISF. A son of the legendary Nimmerdor, Preferent, out of the Purioso daughter Waloniki, Star/Preferent/Prestatie, Consul was bred by Mr. J. Kaas. In 1987, Consul completed his 100-day testing in Ermelo where he was one of the few stallions to receive 9's for both character and stall manners. He was a winning show jumper in Holland and bred for one season, which produced 98 registered offspring.
Consul was imported to the USA in 1988. He began a successful dressage career, which included a CBLM 1st Level Championship with Mrs. Malone, and continued up the national levels with more than 22 victories at 4th Level dressage. He had a dual career as a prolific breeding stallion, siring over 508 horses registered with the KWPN-NA. Consul's get excel at all levels of dressage, eventing and jumping and he has produced many champion hunters. Most notable is the impressive career of Judgement ISF who has won over 1.5 million dollars in prize money competing in Show Jumping Grand Prix around the world becoming the first domestically bred winner of the CN International at Spruce Meadows. Show jumping legend Judgement ISF, Crown, the first American born and bred Approved KWPN stallion. Judgement represented the USA on 10 Nation’s Cup teams, including the World Equestrian Games, won the $1 million CN International at Spruce Meadows, and retired sound at age 18 with more than $1 million in lifetime earnings.That was just one of his many international show jumping victories. He represented the USA on 10 Nation’s Cup teams, including the gold medal winning team at CSIO La Baule in 2008 and Hickstead in 2007. He also earned the National Champion title at Spruce Meadows on four occasions.
By far one of the nicest mares we have in our program we just love our Consul daughter Bliksem. "Bliksem" means lightning in Dutch which is fitting her barn name would be "Elektra." We struck gold with this mare buying her out of a field in Illinois with a previous surprising career doing western work. Transitioning like a pro, she now is by far the best speed jumper we have in our program and can turn on a dime with the conformation fitting for open speed classes. Electra also is a beautiful and very correct mare with stunning markings that easily doubles in the hunter ring. She is an exceptional mare with great paces and super flat kneed movement as well. Bliksem is a spitting image of her brother and has scope for days. She is a true tribute to her family heritage and talent. We are delighted to have this special mare be a part of our program.
