Chateau Vista Farm's is excited to present Argenta CVL. "Argenta" has a true pedigree of champions. We are excited about this talented home-bred and we will be working on campaigning her in the hunter ring with her scope for the big derby tracks, though she has plenty of ability for the jumper ring as well, she was bred to be an exceptional hunter talent. Her sire, Apiro is a son of the legendary Argentinus, who for an amazing seven years led the FN statistics of his age group for the prize money earned by his progeny with offspring competing at the international levels in both dressage and jumping. Argentinus was Stallion of the year in 2005. A successful advanced level showjumper himself, Argentinus sired 28 approved sons, 48 State Premium mares, and became Germany's youngest millionaire based on money won by his progeny. He was renowned for passing on his willing temperament to his offspring. His sire, Argentan I, produced 19 approved sons and 119 State Premium mares and was highly regarded as a broodmare sire. From Absatz, the type and unmistakable face of his sire, Abglanz, is stamped generation after generation.

From Argentinus' damsire, Duden II, comes the dynamic movements and impulsion of Duellant. Apiro's dam, the State Premium mare Pyrah H, is a strong producer of sporthorses including the show jumpers Perle, Pandora, and Power Girl, Rocci Balboa who has been successful in the young dressage horse classes, and the State Premium mare, Airline. She also produced the approved stallion, River Phoenix, who won the Bavarian Championships and placed in the Bundeschampionat. Pyrah H is by the exceptional jumper sire, Pilot, who was the first showjumping stallion with progeny to earn one million deutschmarks. His second dam, Ceda H, is by the Cyklon son, Cyrus. The Hanoverian-based Trakehner, Cyklon, established a good jumper line and was a superior sporthorse sire.
Apiro's offspring are already having success in the hunter and jumper rings. He is producing talented, amateur friendly horses and is greatly improving scope in gaits and jump. Apiro was Reserve Champion of his 30-day test in 2004 with 8.51 overall, 8.86 for jumping and 7.99 for dressage. He completed his sport requirements in Germany by qualifying for the 2005 Bundeschampionat in showjumping. Apiro competed successfully in the working hunter ring as well as with his amateur owner. He is producing quiet minded, athletic offspring stamped with his type. Apiro was Top 3 Hunter Breeding Sire in 2011 and 2013. Apiro has excellent conception rates with both fresh and frozen semen. He is EVA negative and vaccinated yearly. He has been presented to and approved for breeding with AHS, GOV, ISR/Old NA, RPSI, and sBs. He is eligible to sire registered foals with CWHBA, KWPN, and Westphalin.

Argenta's 1st Dam CVL Ulania Tournerie, Chateau Vista Farm's Ulania Tournerie, or “Lania” is a Selle Francais 17.2hh bay mare imported from France. Ulania is a large bay mare (1m70), in the blood, with a beautiful head (like many products of Dollar de la Pierre). Lania is currently showing and will be a fantastic mount for the upper levels having a long start due to being in the breeding shed. Ulania competed in the young horse series in France. She started the classic 4-year CSO course in 2012.  Both uterine sisters, Romance Tournerie and Saphir Tournerie, did excellent at the 4-year finals Normandy. She was campaigned in the Young Horse Series in France under the French breeding farm of Catherine Porier at Elevage de la Tournerie de Chevaux in Normandy before she was imported by Chateau Vista Show Jumpers as a five year old to the USA. Being one of our top mares by far, Ulania is not mare-ish, is incredibly easy to ride, and is very willing over fences. Ulania is the ideal sporthorse. She is well-behaved on the ground and under saddle and has had automatic lead changes from the start under saddle. She is an incredibly well-balanced mare. Lania is currently in full training and has a future in all three rings. She is equipped with good locomotion and a very good mind applied to work. She has blood and strength. Ulania is a sport and embryo donor mare in our embryo transfer program

Ulania is by the sire, Dollar de la Pierre (alias Tlaloc M) who is the son of the famous SF stallion Quidam de Revel. Dollar de la Pierre was one of the best show jumping horses in France during his career. At 9, he was part of the Mexican team at the Sydney Olympics. From 10 to 15 years old, back in France he was World Champion stallions in Lanaken, Jerez World Champion (by team) He was on the winning team at the WEG in Jerez in 2002, Vice champion of France, Vice European team champion and 7th individual at the European Championships in Donaueschingen, Winner of the European Championship final, the CSI *** Liège GP, the La Baule Nations Cup, the British GP of the CSIO ***** of Hickstead. In 2003 he got European silver with the French team in Donaueschingen.

As her sire, he has left several great offspring. Dollar is a real gentleman. He is an expressive horse with a very current sport model. He is undoubtedly the true successor of his father. It conveys the balance, intelligence and strength that he himself has inherited from his famous parents. His production is chic, with a lot of presence and a very strong back. With him, there is no mistake. Her father Tlaloc La Silla (ex Dollar de la Pierre) was a great competitor and also produced many great horses like Oasis (ex Incas de L’Oasis) and HH Rebozo alias Rebozo La Silla who is ridden by Rodrigo Pessoa and currently available at stud by Hyperion Stud in Virginia.

Uania's grandsire is the great Quidam de Revel, phenomenal international performer, ISO 185, 4th of the J.O. of Barcelona, is recognized as a race leader. He is the father of numerous stallion performers as well as many great performers in CSIO and CSI-W. At the end of 2014, he has at least 300 winning products in CSI and CSIO, 10th best world father in the Stallions Ranking WBFSH.

Having passed away in early 2014, Quidam de Revel will be remembered not only as a world class Nations Cup and Olympic jumper, but as a prolific elite sire as well.

Under Herve Godignon, Quidam de Revel won the 1990 Nations Cup in New York as well as the Grand Prixs in New York and Dortmund. The eight year old stallion won over one million Francs that year. In 1991, Quidam and Herve not only were team fourth and individually sixth at the European Championships in La Baule, they also won the Nations Cup in Hickstead, were second in Rotterdam, seventh in Calgary, and were fifth in the World Cup finals in Gothenburg, Sweden. Representing France, Herve and Quidam de Revel helped secure the team bronze at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and were fourth individually. That same year, they won the Nation Cups of Rome and Dinard as well as the Grand Prix of Rome.
In 1993, Quidam was sold to the Velin family of Denmark. Under Charlotte Velin, he won the Scandanavian Young Riders championships, and after her brother Thomas took over the reins, Quidam was 4th in the 1993 Grand Prix of Oslo, seventh in the Millstreet World Cup qualification, and 3rd in the stallion class in Mechelen as well as the Danish derby. In 1995, Quidam and Thomas went on to 3rd in the Grand Prix of Neumuenster and placed in the Volvo World Cup, the Masters in Zurich, the Munich Grand Prix, the Swedish derby in Falsterbo, as well as the CSI-As in Spangenberg and Valkenswaard. After more placings at Grand Prix, Thomas and Quidam were fourth at the 1996 Young Rider European championships, and in 1997, they went on to win the Grand Prix of Hanover and were fifth in the Helskinki World Cup qualification. They also placed in the World Cup qualification in Paris and the Volvo World Cup finals in Gothenburg. In 2001, Quidam de Revel was retired from his illustrious competitive career at the amazing age of 19 and was able to focus on being a legendary sire.

Quidam de Revel's ability to produce top class talent was noticed as soon as his foals started hitting the ground in 1988. He has produced more than 30 approved sons in Germany, and in 2012, eleven of his offspring competed at the London Olympic Games. The success of his offspring has kept Quidam at the top of the WBFSH jumper sire rankings for years. In 2014 he was ranked 10th. His best known offspring are Dollar de la Pierre (aka Tlaloc la Silla, 2000 Olympic finals, 2002 WEG team gold medalist under Reynald Angot), Nabab de Reve (2002 WEG team bronze under Philippe Le Jeune, approved sire with internationally successful offspring), Giudam (aka Adagio IV, approved KWPN sire with internationally successful offspring), Kador du Valn, Le Prestige St. Lois de Hus, Queen Liesa, Quite Capitol, Bianca D'Amaury (Rodrigo Pessoa), Quel Homme (2005 German national champion under Rene Tebbel), Circa Z, Coco Chancel and Etoupe. Quidam de Revel stems from the outstandingly successful Alme-Jalisco B line. Jalisco B represented Portugal at the 1998 Seoul Olympic Games before retiring to stud and producing horses such as Quito de Baussy (World and European champion in 1990 and 1991 under Eric Navet) and Dollar du Murier (2002 WEG team gold and individual silver). Quidam de Revel's dam, Dirka was also an international winner under Nelson Pessoa and was a ¾ sister to the French stallion Uriel.

Argenta CVL's dam lines continues to impress as her 2nd Dam Jalania Roc is by the great influential stallion Diamant Rouge II by Papillion Rouge. Papillon Rouge’s story is linked with that of Fernand and Xavier Leredde of the legendary horse breeding family in the heart of France’s horse country, Normandy. The French legend Papillon Rouge is a stallion who has become one of the leading progenitors of upper level competition horses. He appears regularly in the top level of sport horse sires in all studbooks and through his sire, Jalisco B, carries some of the most influential jumping bloodlines in the world.

Straight  from the breeder's mouth...

“Coming to us as one of our first home-bred foals, this young mare has certainly stepped up to the plate. To say we are excited about this spectacular mare would be an understatement! Argenta already has quite the following since she has arrived! Certainly one of the top foals we have bred without a doubt, this filly will surely be for the bigger hunter tracks. Pedigrees like these are what superstars are made of! "
